Amit is the Director of Integrated Urban Transport at WRI India. He is based in Delhi and provides vision and leadership to all transport initiatives across WRI in India and neighbouring countries. Amit has over 17 years' experience in the field of urban transport, road safety, public transport planning, non-motorised transportation planning, street design and urban development. Amit has a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and a Master's degree in Transport. Amit also has a Master's degree in Economics and a diploma in Transport Economics and Management.

Dr. Amit Gupta is currently working as Professor of Surgery at the Division of Trauma Surgery & Critical Care, JPN Apex Trauma Center, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. After graduating from Kanpur University in 1993, he did his Masters in Surgery from King George's Medical University, Lucknow in 1997 and joined AIIMS in 1998, and since then has been there in various capacities, in the Emergency Department, Department of Surgical Disciplines and at the J P N Apex Trauma Center. He is alsoFellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS – Glasg.), Fellow of American College of Surgeons (FACS) and Fellow of the International College of Laparoscopic Surgeons (FCLS). Recipient of the prestigious ICMR - International Fellowship for Young biomedical scientists in 2008 he travelled to the USA and was associated with Level-I Regional Trauma Center in Tampa and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center Baltimore as Visiting Fellow in Trauma Surgery and Trauma Critical Care. His fellowship at the University of South Florida was on use of Simulation technology as a Teaching Tool for Emergency and Trauma Education. His other numerous fellowships include the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center – USAID fellowship for Hospital Disaster Planning; Israeli MASHAV Fellowship for Trauma and Mass Casualty Management; Visiting faculty fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Careat the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; and various other Travel fellowships from DST & DBT Govt. of India. An ardent academician he has over 100 publications including Peer reviewed journals, Edited Textbooks/ Reports, Chapters in Textbooks and abstracts in world journals. His research Interests are Trauma and Injury Epidemiology, Trauma Systems, Quality Improvement in Trauma Care and Trauma Critical Care. He has been a part of two WHO funded Injury surveillance projects as PI and more than 15other research projects funded by ICMR, AIIMS and other funding agencies. Recently he has been involved as PI (India side) to bag the coveted Australia India Strategic Research Fund (Grand Challenge Fund) for a 4 year research grant on Trauma Systems and Trauma Quality Improvement. He is a core group member at the NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of India) which had developed the National Guidelines for Medical Management in Mass Casualties. He has been a consultant to UNDP for developing "Guidelines for Hospital Contingency Planning". He has also been a member on various state and national level committees for Pre-hospital Trauma Care, Curriculum designing in Trauma, Capacity building in Trauma, Planning for Decade of Action on Road Safety, EMS Legislation etc. As a teacher he is a firm believer that capacity building and training in Trauma Management is the only way out to improve trauma outcomes in India. Apart from his regular teaching responsibilities at the Institute he is Faculty on many national and International Courses like ATLS (American College of Surgeons), NTMC (IATSIC), FCCS (SCCM), RTTDC (ACS – COT), PHTLS (NAMET), BLS/ACLS (AHA) etc. Founder Secretary of the Indian Society for Trauma and Acute Care (ISTAC) he has been involved with various teaching and training programs in Trauma Care all over the country. He is a visiting faculty and resource person for National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW, GoI) and the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM). He has delivered over 70 Guest Lectures in National and International forums. He has been functional in fostering numerous international collaborations in the field of Trauma Care with countries like USA, Israel, Australia and other WHO-SEARO/WPR countries.

Bernd was appointed General Manager Road Safety for the Shell Group as of 1. September 2015. He holds a joint Masters' degree in mechanical engineering and business administration from Cologne University and joined Shell in 2001. Bernd has spent most of his career in different Downstream roles based in Hamburg, Oslo and Singapore spanning New Fuels & Bio Fuels implementation, Fuels Product Management, Trading & Supply Business development and managing 40 Fuels depots and Refinery Terminals in UK & Nordics. Further more, he led the successful conversion of the Hamburg refinery into a Fuels Terminal. He also spent 2 years in Upstream China as Regional Logistics Manager based in Beijing. Previous to his current role he worked 2 years as Global Strategy Advisor in Real Estate based in The Hague. Prior to joining Shell, Bernd spent 4 years with DEA Oil working in Manufacturing, Supply and Distribution and 1 year as Trainee with the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Seoul, South Korea. Bernd is from Hamburg, he is married to Yvonne and they have a 14 year old daughter, Neele Sophie. He enjoys spending time with his family, running and flying as a pilot.

Chris is one of the few Infrastructure professionals to have worked as Principal, Advisor and Debt Provider to the infrastructure sector. Starting in the mid 1990's Chris was a founder partner in one of the early Infrastructure equity funds, Hyder Infrastructure Investors. Amongst many deals financed were the Melbourne City Link and the Asian Infrastructure Fund, as well as a number of UK PFI deals. As an advisor in the late 1990's Chris structured the N3 toll road project in South Africa, working to create financial instruments to promote local empowerment and involvement in the project equity. During this period he also worked on urban regeneration projects in the UK and the Cross Israel Highway. After a period working in the Capital Markets with Ambac Chris moved to Partnerships UK, a PPP project set up by the UK Treasury working to advise the Public Sector in procuring Infrastructure programmes. He worked on the Wembley National Stadium and London Underground projects helping the Public Sector to get best value from their Private Sector counterparts. In 2001 he worked with the Brazilian Government advising on the process of preparing and executing a PPP programme. Whilst at Partnerships UK he also spent some time working in the Treasury where he was one of the authors of the Government White Paper "Meeting the Investment Challenge". Chris returned to the Private Sector in 2006 and has worked for WestLB AG, Lloyds Banking Group and most recently Macquarie. He has provided finance to projects in the U.S., Europe, Turkey, China, Abidjan and Australia.

Claude Van Rooten was elected as President of the World Road Association in January 2017, having been Director General of the Belgian Road Research Centre for 17 years. He was member of the Executive Committee from 2005 to 2012 and Chair of the Communications Commission from 2009 to 2012. He is an honorary member of the Association since 2013. He obtained his Civil Engineer Degree at the Université libre de Bruxelles. He is Director General of the Belgian Road Research Centre since 17 years and Lecturer at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

David is the President of Roads Australia and Vice Chairman of IRF Geneva. In his professional life David is a Director of WSP Australia, Client Director for Transport ANZ and the company's national lead on Program Management and Delivery Partner contract arrangements.In his former role David was the Transport and Roads Regulator for the NSW Government in Australia. David has 40 years' experience in the planning, design, delivery, management and operation of infrastructure for government and the private sector in both Australia and the UK. David has also held senior policy and regulatory roles for government in Australia. David has been an Executive Director for twenty-six years and a non-Executive Director on companies, national and International bodies for the past 16 years.

Ditrih Evgeny Ivanovich – First Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, 2 State Class Councilor of the Russian Federation. He was born on September 8, 1973 in Mytischi, Moscow Region. In 1996 he graduated from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute) with a specialization in «Applied Mathematics», in 1999 – the Higher School of Privatization and Entrepreneurship with a specialization in «Jurisprudence». Erik Grab is currently Vice President Strategic Anticipation & Innovation for the Michelin Group. He is also in charge of the Mobility Open Lab of Michelin, a co-innovation ecosystem gathering over 200 international companies and 50 international or professional organizations. His previous mission within the Group was as Global Marketing Director for the two main Michelin business entities, namely Truck and Passenger Car. Before joining Michelin, Erik had created a Business Consulting Agency which he subsequently sold to WPP, world leader in advertising and marketing services. Erik began his career in sales, then turned to marketing consultancy and market studies, including within the German Institute GfK before becoming the company's French branch Director. Erik is a strategic anticipation and innovation unconditional enthusiast and regularly speaks on university campuses and international forums on the future of mobility and sustainable development. Born in Bavaria (Germany), Dr. Gerhard Ploss grew up and went to school both in Germany and in India. In Rourkela, where his father used to work for the steel industry, he got the first glimpses of India exactly 50 years ago. In 1984, he finished his diploma of civil engineering from the most reputed Technical University of Munich. He then went on to pursue a doctoral degree in transportation planning from the same university. Dr. Ploss is well known in the ITS industry in Germany, Europe and worldwide and has an illustrious career spanning over 33 years. He started his career in 1984 as a senior engineer at Technical University of Munich, and held managing director or vice president positions at several companies including Heusch/Boesefeldt, Daimler Benz, TUEV Rheinland and PTV AG. Since 2012 he serves as a general manager and head of international sales and business development at Swarco Traffic Holding GmbH, Munich.

Jaspal Singh is an Urban Transport Expert and is currently working as Head of UITP India Office. He has been working with UITP since 2013. He has more than 12 years of experience in urban transport and management consultancy. Prior to UITP, he setup a consultancy firm -– Valoriser Consultants, which is engaged with companies in the areas of Urban Transport, Para-transit, Transport Planning and Intelligent Transport System. Previously, he was working as Deputy Manager with Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System Limited, a joint venture of Government of Delhi. He is also subject matter expert on Taxi transport and has received several awards for his contribution in the field of public transport and social work. Mr. Singh has received his Master's in Business Administration specialized in International Business from Delhi University.

Javier Alfredo Iguacel was born on October 16th, 1974 in Buenos Aires. He studied petroleum engineering at the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology and graduated with honors in 1998. In 2006, he earned a post-graduate degree in management development from the Institute of Higher Business School of the Austral University. Until 2015, Iguacel served as Vice-president of Pluspetrol, the leading private oil and gas company in Latin-America, being in charge of the Country Manager of Colombia and Venezuela. During his administration, it can be highlighted the purchase of non-conventional oil and gas in Argentina, the acquisition of APCO International (USA - Tulsa) in the Nasdaq Stock, with operations in Colombia and Argentina, and the purchase to Harvest Natural Resources (USA - Huston). Before being Vice-president of Pluspetrol, Iguacel served as Oil Services Controller, International Negotiator and General Director of the company in Angola and developed business strategies, personnel structures and logistics. He also occupied technical positions in YPF and Petrobrás Energía S.A., where he brought knowledge about the industry. Throughout his career, Iguacel has participated as a speaker or representative in congresses related to the profession in Angola, Malaysia, Kenya, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil and Argentina, among other countries. In 2015, he resigned as vice-president of Pluspetrol to start his political career as candidate for mayor in Capitán Sarmiento district for the PRO party. In January 2016, as per to Decree 133/2016 issued by President Mauricio Macri, Iguacel was appointed as General Director of Dirección Nacional de Vialidad. He is in charge of the study, construction, maintenance, improvements and modifications of the national trunk roads and additional works, as well. Javier Iguacel, along with the Direccion Nacional de Vialidad team, is carrying out the most ambitious federal road plan in history, which comprises the construction of 2800 kilometers of highways, 1200 kilometers being already in execution, 4000 kilometers of safe roads, involving 13,000 kilometers. This is a decisive road plan for the evolution, development and road connection of the country.

Jean Todt, President of FIA, and UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety Mr. Todt is the President of FIA (Fédération Internationale de L'Automobile) October 2009, the governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world's motoring organizations. The federation works across two key interlinked areas of activity - sport and mobility. In the realm of mobility, the FIA aims to ensure that safe, affordable and clean systems of transport are available to all. Mr. Todt made road safety a priority of the federation through the FIA Action for Road Safety campaign, launched in 2011 in support of the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety. The campaign is based on global advocacy for road safety, supporting action on the ground by its 250 member clubs in nearly 150 countries, building institutional and commercial partnerships as well as mobilizing the motor sport community to promote road safety. On 29 April 2015, Mr. Todt was appointed Special Envoy for Road Safety by the United Nations Secretary-General. In this role, Mr. Todt is helping to mobilize sustained political commitment towards making road safety a priority; advocating and raising awareness about the United Nations road safety legal instruments; sharing established road safety good practices; and advocating for adequate global funding for road safety.

Dr. Michael is Associate Administrator for Research and Program Development at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration with responsibility for the development of programs to increase seat belt use, decrease impaired driving, and improve the safety of motorcyclists, bicyclists, pedestrians and older drivers. Previously he served as Director of the Impaired Driving and Occupant Protection Office, with responsibility for developing and promoting programs to reduce alcohol and drug-impaired driving and increase the use of safety belts and child safety seats. During his tenure, Dr. Michael also served as Chief of the agency's Emergency Medical Services Division, where he supported the national EMS system by developing and maintaining consensus guidelines for educating emergency medical technicians and improving EMS operations. Dr. Michael has served in the Federal government for twenty-eight years.

John Riccardi is the vice president and general manager of 3M's Transportation Safety Division, leading a portfolio of traffic safetybusinesses that include reflective materialsand systems for vehicles and roadways, leveraging technologies that help enable safe human and automated vehicle navigation of infrastructure. Prior to joining the Transportation Safety Division, John was vice president and general manager of 3M's Communications Markets Division based in Austin, Texas. John began his 3M career in 1984 with 3M's Adhesives, Coatings and Sealers Division in Canada. In 1995, he joined 3M's Telecom Systems Division based in Austin, Texas, and has since held a variety of business and manufacturing leadership positions in 3M's electronics-based businesses headquartered in Austin, with international assignments in Cergy, France and Seoul, South Korea. John has a Chemical Engineering degree from McMaster University, Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Irigoyen is Senior Director for the Transport and Information and Communications Technologies Global Practice of the World Bank. Established in July 2014, the Practice manages all Transport and ICT activities, including a portfolio of about 220 projects and US$42 billion in lending commitments in more than 80 countries. Previously, Mr. Irigoyen was a Director under the Sustainable Development Network responsible for policy and strategic advice on transport, water, ICT and infrastructure financing, and a Senior Manager in the Africa Region between 2008 and 2010. Mr. Irigoyen led the Bank's Global Expert Team on Public Private Partnerships between 2010 and 2013. An Argentine national, he joined the Bank in 1990 in the Latin America and Caribbean Region, where he held positions of increasing responsibilities including that of Transport Sector Manager between 2001 and 2008.

Mr. Maxim Sokolov – Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Full State Counsellor 2nd Class of the Russian Federation. Marc Garneau has served his country his entire professional career, beginning with the Canadian Navy, then as an astronaut and President of the Canadian Space Agency, and now in political life. Marc began his service to Canada as a navy combat systems engineer in HMCS Algonquin from 1974 to 1976. He was promoted to commander in 1982 while at Staff College and was transferred to Ottawa in 1983. In January 1986, he was promoted to naval captain and retired from the navy in 1989. Marc was one of six Canadian astronauts selected out of over four thousand candidates in December 1983. He was seconded to the Canadian Astronaut Program from the Department of National Defence in February 1984 to begin astronaut training. Marc made history by becoming the first Canadian astronaut to fly in space as a payload specialist on Shuttle Mission 41-G, October 5-13, 1984. In 1989 Marc was named Deputy Director of the Canadian Astronaut Program, and provided technical and program support in the preparation of experiments for future Canadian missions. In February 2001, Marc Garneau was appointed Executive Vice President of the Canadian Space Agency and then President on November 22, 2001 before leaving in 2005 to pursue a career in politics. In October 2008 Marc Garneau was elected as the Member of Parliament for Westmount–Ville-Marie and, in his first mandate, served as the Critic for Industry, Science and Technology as well as the Leader's representative for Quebec. He was re-elected in Westmount-Ville-Marie in May 2011 and served as House Leader in the House of Commons. He also served as the Critic for Foreign Affairs and La Francophonie. In October 2015, he was re-elected, in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce–Westmount. In August 2003, Marc was made a Companion of the Order of Canada, Canada's highest civilian honour. Edmund K. Turner Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering Director, Intelligent Transportation Systems Lab Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyMoshe Ben-Akiva is the Edmund K. Turner Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology. He holds a PhD degree in Transportation Systems from MIT and honorary degrees from the University of the Aegean, the UniversitéLumiére Lyon, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), and the University of Antwerp. His awards include the Lifetime Achievement Award of the International Association for Travel Behavior Research, the Jules Dupuit prize from the World Conference on Transport Research Society, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers ITS Society Outstanding Application Award for DynaMIT, a system for dynamic networkmanagement. Ben-Akiva has coauthored two books, including the textbook Discrete Choice Analysis, published by MIT Press, and over 200 papers in refereed journals or conference proceedings. He has worked as a consultant in industries such as transportation, energy, telecommunications, financial services and marketing for a number of private and public organizations, including Hague Consulting Group, RAND Europe, ChoiceStream and Cambridge Systematics, where he was previously a Senior Principal and member of the Board of Directors. He is currently a member of the Future Interstate Highway System Committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, which was commissioned through the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act of 2015 to research actions needed to upgrade and restore the national interstate highway system to meet growing and shifting demands.

Neil Pedersen became Executive Director of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) in 2015. In that role he provides executive direction and leadership to TRB's technical activities, including its annual meeting of over 12,000 transportation professionals, its more than 200 technical committees, its conferences, and its publications; its peer reviewed policy consensus studies; and its multimodal cooperative research programs. Neil spent 29 years at the Maryland Department of Transportation, where he served the last eight years as State Highway Administrator and Governor's Highway Safety Representative. Over his career Neil has been involved in volunteer leadership roles in both TRB and AASHTO. He chaired a number of TRB committees, including serving as Chair of TRB's Executive Committee in 2011.

He has also been associated with educational institutions for a long time. Presently he is Chairman of the IIT Kanpur.Mr. Bhargava has written a book, 'The Maruti Story'. He has also authored a book in Japanese on Suzuki's strategy in India.Mr. Bhargava was awarded the Padma Bhusan in 2016. In November 2011, the Emperor of Japan had conferred on Mr. Bhargava the "Order of the Rising Sun Gold and Silver Star". He has also been given the Lifetime Award for Management by the Economic Times and the All India Management Association. He has also received the Forbes (India) Leadership Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Rob McInerney is the Chief Executive Officer for the international Road Assessment Programme (iRAP), a registered charity with the vision for a world free of high-risk roads. With RAP projects and programmes now active in over 85 countries worldwide, Rob works closely with key development bank, political and technical leaders from each country to build local capacity and deliver large scale and long term road safety benefits through the provision of safer road infrastructure as part of their own RAP programmes. He has been directly involved in the iRAP star rating model development and the associated investment planning tools. Rob is leading the development of innovative financing mechanisms such as road safety social impact bonds to unlock the win-win potential of safer roads. He is working with partners worldwide to set star rating policy targets and implement the star rating of road designs that provide a pass-mark for road safety. Rob is a civil engineer, with over 25 years of international charity, development agency, road authority, research and road safety experience in policy, construction, design and investment planning. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Australasian College of Road Safety in 2015 and received the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award in 2014 in recognition of the work of iRAP globallyand was jointly awarded the Katahira Award at the 13th REAAA Conference in Korea.

Umberto de Pretto took up office as Secretary General of IRU in June 2013. He joined IRU in 1995 as Head of Economic Affairs. He then became Policy Coordinator and Head of Strategy, and was appointed Deputy Secretary General in 2002. His vision looking forward to 2020 is that IRU will lead the road transport industry in embracing innovation and ensuring that the industry is ready for the challenges and opportunities ahead. After graduating from Ottawa's Carleton University in Political Science, Economics and International Relations, he worked as a Legislative Assistant for Ministers and Members of the Canadian Parliament and then moved to Paris in 1992 to take on the position of Head of the Transport Division, to be shortly afterwards named Deputy Director of the International Chamber of Commerce, responsible for International Commercial Practices and Techniques. Born in Ottawa in 1961, Mr de Pretto is a Canadian and Italian citizen, is happily married and is a proud father of two boys.
